Filespots is developed by BWSO, a leading producer of web-based software, domiciled in Augsburg/Germany. Filespots was founded as an independent sister company in 2007, it remains run by the founders and owners, fully self-financed.

The future of software: the internet

"The software of the future will be web-based," all four founders say unanimously. "In 2002, we were pioneers, but now the trend to provide software as a service (SaaS) is establishing itself in the corporate world." The founders are Bernd Behler (strategy, development), Martin Obmann (user interface design), Marc Schieder (cloud computing) und Thilo Wolter (consultation and sales). The staff currently consists of 15 permanent members. References include Liebherr, markt.gruppe, Schöffel, VELUX, WEKA and many more.
